Merry Christmas From Nostalgia In Miniature Workshops....

Well folks....here we are again, our last posting of 2014!
First up, we must give a special thanks to everyone who came to our two separate workshops during 2014. We hope you enjoyed them as much as we did....they may have been quite challenging in different ways but who would have guessed that the stone wall was made out of egg boxes, fencing made from matches, winding path as well as roof tiles made from cardboard, and bricks from sandpaper! We hope this illustrates that you do not necessarily need fancy materials or tools to make beautiful miniatures.
Above you can see a photo of Geraldine's "Round The Back Of The Old Gardener's Cottage" project that she made at our Spring 2014 workshop....and we are immensely proud of her!  She came to her very first workshop in 2013 as an absolute beginner, completely convinced that she would never be able to make anything but thought that she would give it a go anyway. And here we are, just a few months later and she is producing single handedly this gorgeous little scene that you can see here.

Margaret came to her first workshop with us in the autumn of 2014. She sent us this photo of her finished "Down The Little Herb Garden Path" project and we were completely blown away by it. We think it is absolutely exquisite!

THE LITTLE VINTAGE TOY SHOP
By now, everyone reading this will probably be aware of our next workshop that is taking place next June.
An image of the shop before the interior shelves were fitted.
But did you know that we now have the promotional page up with more information?
Much planning has gone into our June 2015 all day workshop and making the prototype for this particular vintage style project has been an absolute joy. For those of you who love vintage dolls houses and also like the challenge of creating, you may particularly love this project. We will be offering a place to everyone on the Reserve List within the first two weeks of January as soon as we have official confirmation from the Bicester venue of which Saturday in June it will be. Then soon after, booking will go live on the website for all remaining spaces. As the list is now rather long and this workshop is proving to be rather popular, it is highly likely that we will be running this workshop on not just one but two different Saturdays in June.  Please do still feel free to email us if you wish to be added to the Reserve List.
Another image through the shop before the interior shelves were fitted and just some of the toys we will be making....

FOR ALL THOSE ON THE RESERVE LIST
PLEASE NOTE THAT ONCE WE HAVE THE DATE CONFIRMED BY THE VENUE, EVERYONE WHO IS ON THE RESERVE LIST WILL BE CONTACTED BY US DURING THE FIRST 2 WEEKS OF JANUARY.  THOSE PEOPLE WILL BE GIVEN 5 DAYS TO CONFIRM WHETHER THEY WISH TO TAKE UP THEIR PRIORITY BOOKING OR NOT, THEN BOOKING WILL GO LIVE ON THE WEBSITE FOR THE REMAINING SPACES.

And finally, all we need to do now is to wish you all....
A Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
From Nostalgia In Miniature Workshops!
Hope to see you in June 2015!
Kind regards
Celia & Robin

Signing Off From Our 2014 Calendar Of Workshops & Looking Forward To Next Year's Workshop....Plus A Bit More Besides!

Although it's been a few weeks since our last workshop....much has been going on here behind the scenes. We hope those of you who embarked on the little herb gardens, have been having great fun completing the projects at home. We would love to see your finished projects! For those of you who tackled the 1/24th scale herbs in particular, how have you got on?
All is calm, everything is prepared. There is so much room and we can really spread out!
How about our super pink spotty tablecloths...
Just look at the concentration!!

We are delighted to announce that after raising a further £25.00 from our charity raffle at the last workshop, thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended the workshops during this year, we have raised a magnificent total of....

£91
for
Breast Cancer Campaign.

This is now being forwarded to the charity on everyone's behalf.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED TO OUR BREAST CANCER CAMPAIGN WORKSHOP RAFFLES THROUGHOUT THIS YEAR - IT HAS BEEN VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!

MORE FANTASTIC NEWS!
Also...we are absolutely delighted to announce that our WW1 Dugout, Trench & Poppy Field Scene has been sold for a magnificent £400! The family story behind the lady from Hertfordshire who purchased it, can be read on the main promotional page. It is truly amazing and quite poignant, and we are both thrilled that this will now be going on to a wonderful new home.

The well travelled little WW1 Scene is making its final public appearance in the window of Thame Oxfam Book Shop for Armistice Day, and then it will embark on its journey to the new owner.  We shall both be very sad to see it go as we have become rather attached to it, but it is most definitely going to a good home.
This also meant that we were able to send a cheque for £200 to the Royal British Legion, as it was always our intention to donate 50% of all proceeds from this sale, to this charity.

Now Moving Forward To Next Year......
We have both been busy planning our next workshop, date to be arranged but we are hoping for a Saturday in June at the Bicester venue. Unfortunately it isn't possible to sort this out with the venue until January.

It will have a real wow factor....but more about that another day....so watch this space!
